The best time to elope in Southern California.

Strictly sticking to the coast for this one. If I could give couples one time of year to elope on the coast in Southern California, or even in Big Sur, it would be September/October. Temperatures are usually in the mid 70s to low 80s in the daytime, meaning you can still surf on your elopement day and enjoy the water. And this is also when the water temps warm up. The Pacific is not known to be a warm body of water, but it often hits the 70s around this time of year. In the evenings, the temps drop into the 60s at night, so you do need a jacket once the sun goes down. It’s not terribly windy, and the sunsets are always stunning! May gray and June gloom are long gone, so even if there is a day that has a few clouds, the sun drops below them on the beach for epic lighting. Plus, it’s off season, so places aren’t nearly as crowded as they are in the summer.
