K + B reached out to plan engagement photos on the west coast. They had been a bicoastal couple, doing the long distance thing for 3 years, and wanted to celebrate their last month before moving in together in NYC. We scheduled the session in Palos Verdes for the first Saturday evening in the new year, and hoped for warm, sunny weather. Unfortunately, or rather fortunately, we pulled up to an overcast, yet mild to start their engagement session. K was disappointed and I explained that cloudy evenings can make for the most stunning, fire-color sunset. And this evening definitely wanted to show off for her! The clouds stayed dark, casting bright pinks and oranges throughout the skies, creating a dramatic and dynamic background for their engagement photo session. Peep the photos below and look how the sky changes and the vibe of the photos change as the sun starts to set.
