Since you decided that you want to elope, you might be wondering when you should celebrate and say your vows. A weekday elopement has lots of advantages over a weekend one. Check out the following reasons why a weekday elopement might be a better option for you!
1.Less crowds, more privacy.
The best part about eloping on a weekday is you will have some of the most beautiful and sometimes most popular spots, all to yourselves. This means more privacy and less strangers lurking in the back of your photos or staring right at you. Plus, less bathroom lines.
2. Easier to obtain permits.
Since you are not cramming your wedding in on a weekend, your date will be more likely to be open. Since permits are limited for every location, they can actually sell out ahead of time. A couple that decided to elope on a Monday in Joshua Tree was the only couple that day getting married. How cool is that?!
3. Higher likelihood of getting your preferred vendors.
Just like with the permits, your vendors will be less booked ahead of time during the week, so you’ll have a higher likelihood of them being available. This is especially true if you are a bit more spontaneous, and not planning out a year ahead.
4. Cheaper travel.
Flights and accommodations are cheaper during the week. Beat the traffic, because the rest of the suckers will be stuck at work.
5. Extended vacation/ditch work.
Who doesn’t want an excuse to take a vacation? Take advantage of the shorter work week and have a mini-moon in or near your elopement location.
6. Reduce stress.
Less hurry to get there on a Friday after a long week, less guests or none at all. Not worried about parking, beating the weekend warriors, etc.
7. You can be more spontaneous.
If you are more of a last minute type of couple or non-planners, you can plan your elopement closer to your elopement date since everything will be more available. My fastest consultation call to elopement day (a Monday) was 3 weeks, including permits!
