When Jessica and Mason contacted me about their 8 guest elopement, they had already imagined their day down to every detail. And when you see the photos, it’s apparent how much attention they put into said detail. And how much intention they put into their relationship with each other. Mason proposed to Jessica (after a jewelry heist at her mother’s house of her grandma’s ring) under the majestic redwoods of Big Sur, while foraging for mushrooms, one of Jessica’s passions. They had considered eloping in Big Sur, taking it back to where it became serious, but they wanted to choose a place they both feel is more meaningful to them, home.
Jess had found 1 vintage and 1 thrifted wedding dress, and she planned to wear them both. She also had 2 pairs of shoes, ones that resembled mushrooms, and ones that felt more classic. While we were going over the details of her day, she knew that she wanted to include as much of their story as she could. Their story had so much detail and meaning, and they wanted to bring that to light. Choosing a house in the Hollywood Hills full of character and a view of the Hollywood sign, the Griffith Observatory and DTLA, she chose Inessa Nichols Design to make her design vision come to life. With pops of color surrounding a stain glassed window, they decided that was the best spot for their vows. The glassware and dish ware were vintage, as well as the vases for the florals decorated around the house. It all pulled seamlessly together in this home that was 100 years old. Every nook and cranny felt like a great photo op.
Including unique and parts of their story made their wedding day feel so intimate and special. I’ll let the photos speak for the rest.
